The Poorest Countries in the World

While many people in the U.S. worry about waiting in line too long for coffee or whether the car they want comes in the right color, across the globe there are many people simply trying to make ends meet every day. These people frequently live in the poorest countries in the world — places with struggling economies, a lack of natural resources or a combination of that and more.

Our world in 2017. Be a scout, you never know…

The truth in most situations lies somewhere in between. What actually happens is that those who try to foretell the future have contextualised the issues more than most. I too have no hindrances in having a go because I have a context. Here are some predictions based on data to which I am privy

Happy New Year, good bye 2016

Before the year is over, I predict the end of the road for comrade Robert Mugabe, life president of Zimbabwe who turned 92 recently and, against wise counsel, was endorsed as sole candidate of ZANU/PF in that miserable country’s 2018 presidential elections.

Happy New Year esteemed readers of the Sunday Monitor. I hope 2017 will be a better year for all than 2016 which was for me annus horribilis (horrible year).

Uganda’s future lies in harnessing the power of our restless youth

Access to education is laudable but we need quality education. In the technology era foundational skills must include capacity to operate computers. The current policy by government to reduce its investment in public universities is a recipe for disaster.

How spending Shs1,000 will make you broke in 2017

Almost comically, the believer is sometimes asked to attach to the money a specific written end-of-year request, and to put both in an emphatically ‘free’ envelope.

As usual, in December, the good, the bad and the ugly who run the religious industry accelerate their activities, and believers happily part with considerable sums of money to support that industry.
